Eribel manufactures and installs an extensive range of smoke-resistant products. The goal of smoke resistance is to prevent the passage of cold or hot smoke and gases as much as possible. Each year, more people die from smoke inhalation during a fire than from the fire itself. Therefore, this criterion is becoming increasingly important. Eribel's smoke-resistant products have been tested according to European standards in a recognized laboratory.

Smoke resistance is measured in two classes

  • Smoke permeability Sa: When the maximum smoke permeability—measured at room temperature with a pressure difference of 25 Pa—does not exceed 3 m³/h per meter of gap length (excluding leakage at the threshold).

  • Smoke permeability Sm: When the maximum smoke permeability—measured at 20°C and 200°C with a pressure difference of 50 Pa—does not exceed 20 m³/h for a single leaf, or 30 m³/h for a double leaf.
