The goal of smoke resistance is to prevent the passage of cold or hot smoke and gases as much as possible. Each year, more people die from smoke inhalation during a fire than from the fire itself. Therefore, this criterion is becoming increasingly important. Eribel's smoke-resistant products have been tested according to European standards in a recognized laboratory.

Smoke permeability Sa: When the maximum smoke permeability—measured at room temperature with a pressure difference of 25 Pa—does not exceed 3 m³/h per meter of gap length (excluding leakage at the threshold).
Smoke permeability Sm: When the maximum smoke permeability—measured at 20°C and 200°C with a pressure difference of 50 Pa—does not exceed 20 m³/h for a single leaf, or 30 m³/h for a double leaf.
